Does anyone know what type of bug this is? It looks like a bee, but can’t tell since all that was left was a thin dry shell. Pretty gross and awesome all at the same time.

I thought you were a country boy??? That’s a cicada shell, the actual insect is long gone by now.

Haha! Yeah I had no idea. I did, however, carry that thing around once I found it stuck to a grave… and put it in other spots to take photos of it… I know, that’s gross. It was completely hollow.
